All About Embiggen

What is Embiggen?

"Embiggen" is a word used in the The Simpsons episode Lisa the Iconoclast. It's part of Springfield's town motto. Jebediah Springfield said:

A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.

It seems (to me) like it would mean something similar to "empower". It sounds a little silly. I just liked it.

And, yes, "embiggen" is a perfectly cromulent word.

What was Embiggen?

Embiggen used to be a Content Management System that I started working on back in 1999.  I worked on it pretty regularly until 2003 or 2004 before work and life got in the way.  I haven't worked on it as a standalone CMS since then, but I did use the code as more as a framework for a few years.  Since about 2008, I've been using the open-source CMS Drupal.  While Embiggen was nice, I just don't see going back to it as a CMS.
